I'm building a jail that's in the middle of a riot for my campagin and I wanted to throw a druid in for my PC's to fight but the jail is a dead magic zone (no magic will work) but since the druid's wild shape is an abilty will it still work?

Of course not, the druidic shape changing ability has always been a magical one.
Now if you asked about the monk's abilities then some of them could be due to training, but no amount of training is going to let you change from a man to a bear without magic. That also means that were creatures won't change either.

well they way my friends and i always play is the dm can do whatever he wants lol....i mean technically i think just because it's an ability doesn't mean it's not magic but i say do what you want...it's your world
