My boyfriend has a distinct scent. From day 1 I have noticed it. It is not bad, not good...it's just him. I told him about it and he said no one has ever told him that before. People look at me like I'm crazy when I say it too. It's really strong to my nose too. I have never really experienced that before...it's not a cologne or anything either...it's just his natural scent. How do I explain the fact that I can smell something that other people don't smell? I don't have a particularly awesome sense of smell...just average.

Youre more aware of it because everything about him is important to you. Be glad youre the only one, that means you have no competition.

It is funny that you should say this...I am the only one that can smell my husband.
He has this natural scent and then he wears old spice on top of it....and no matter how many times I wash his shirts...I can still smell it.
It is the most arousing scent in the world and drives me crazy...I have been known to sleep with his shirt when he is gone.
But, do not worry...It isn't weird...it is natural.
He just attracts you...

This happens frequently to people who are empaths or who are singularly attached to another. I have a similar thing, but I don't smell people. I see the colors of their emotions and occasionally I'll get a distinct taste in my mouth when I'm talking to them. All it means is that you're perceptive of him on a very deep level.

It's the same way with my boyfriend and me. It's just his scent, and I notice it, and I like it. Like you said, it's not something that's like "oh wow you smell great!" it's just him. I don't expect other people to notice it. I agree that it's just part of the attraction.

I have very little sense of smell left so it's unbelievable to me that you can actually pick up his scent.

Part of me thinks you're just fooling because I don't remember ever smelling very much of anything.

Yea, bad smells always come through "loud and clear" of course. But it sounds so impossible that you can actually smell his scent.

It is part of his chemistry and part of what holds your attraction to him. It is uniquely shared between the 2 of you.
