I just don't know how else to start it, to get the ball rolling. I'm an excellent writer, but beginning papers is usually my struggle.

My topic is kind of broad.

They want me to write about something I have overcome, how I overcame it, how it affected me, and how I would react if I encountered the problem again.

I am going to write about my immense academic improvement, and, thus, learning what "responsibility" means to me and how I learned to grab hold of my destiny.

No, one of the best grades I got on a Humanities paper about the Inquisition was a quote from Monty Python. The problem is finding a good and obscure quote. Stay away from the normal historical figures. Look for something humorous if appropriate or something that most people do not know. What's your topic?

Instead of a quote, why don't you use a metaphor or somehow compare your self to some other major change.
