Im going to buy a AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ for my computer, I have read reviews and It says it runs really really hot, so I need to know what kind of heatsink fan and power supply I should get, but I dont know what kind I should get if someone can please tell me I would appreciate it. By the way my I dont really have alot of money to spend on the heatsink fan and the power supply since im going to be shelling out over $256 for the cpu, so if yall can find me a well priced heatsink and power supply it would be wonderful. thanks

Many CPU's come with a heat sink and fan. Check and see if yours does.

Why don't you go with a little slower retail version, eg.AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000,it comes with heatsink and fan, plus its about $85 cheaper

the cpu will come with a heatsink and fan supplied in the box so you wont need to buy a seperate one, the one that is supplied is the correct one for the cpu so you shouldnt worry about it

The price you quote for the cpu is very high, in the UK you can find them for about half this price. Buy the retail kit, it includes the only approved cpu fan for the chip. Power supplies come in with most cases, the standard now is 500 W. Cases in UK can be bought complete for £30.00.

You dont necessarily need a third party heatsink and fan, normally the default one will work just fine even if it runs a little hotter than normal.

but if you insists:

your looking for a socket am2 heatsink.
A few nice ones are located here:

It really depends on how much you are willing to spend.
