Why dont you find a hobby you can do in the home, where you sit and rest, such as card making or scrapbooking. It really does focus the mind and gives you a bit of relief from the constant pain. (you will remember i too have chronic pain and waiting for spinal cord stimulator). After my crash, i went through many operations and had a breakdown, and clinical depression. A year last april, my friend took me to her mums craft class, and i really thought i would be useless. I made one card in the class and was hooked. My card making has got me through the constant pain, and has also given my confidence a boost because people want my cards! It really does help with severe depression AND chronic, constant pain. It just takes your mind into a different place away from the pain, you concentrate on what you want to do, rather than allowing the pain to dominate all thoughts. Or you could try scrapbooking, rug making, anything that you have or would like to have an interest in. I make cards now for my friends son who has cancer, also for homestart and my kids school, this is my way of paying them back for all the help and support. Try something like that, and you will lose yourself in it enough to ignore the pain for a while. Dont say, like i did, that you couldnt do it, you wont know til you try.

I have Fibromyalgia and am in a lot of pain almost every day. I just realize that I have to go on and there are others out there worse than I am and I try to just go on and do things that I enjoy. I realize that being sad about it or feeling sorry for myself isn't going to get me anywhere although sometimes I can't help to feel that way. I spend a lot of time trying to relax by soaking in the bathtub or just being by myself listening to music. Sometimes that helps me when I am in a bad mood.

Sometimes its hard, i know. I was widowed with two kids at 27 years old and have chronic pain.I have to stay in good spirits because i have kids. I dont have a choice. They have a tendency to put a smile on my face anyway. When I was a teenager i used to contimplate suicide, but then i realized how selfish that was. There are a lot of people out there that im sure love you rite to death. Call Grammy if you have one! Mine always brightened my day!!!

Sometimes I just feel so sick and exhausted like I could sleep forever, because of the physical and mental exhaustion, so it doesn't really take a disorder for me to feel this way. I hurt so bad, in my neck, arms and shoulder and lately I have sinus congestion that I just can't shake. We are getting ready to move for the third time in six months, and are buying our first home, I have a son that I think hates me, this is where my mental exhaustion comes in. I feel so exhausted and sore everywhere and every time I feel good, something always knocks me for a loop. But I usually just think of it as a stepping stone to where I want to be. I'm sorry you are in so much pain, I can't begin to imagine what i have wrong with me, but just take care of yourself, maintain a healthy diet, try and get exercise when the pain isn't that deep, and look for that rainbow. Good luck!

Keep focused on the future. It's not always going to be like this. Your condition will improve. In the meantime, make the best of things and remember that there are worse things you could have wrong with you.

I try to keep my mind off of pain by listening to music, watching movies, talking to friends on the phone, eating great food etc... I used to be hooked on pain pills for a.l.s. and rheumatoid arthritis etc... Now I try to be healthier by not taking anything, so I sympathize with you. These conditions I've had since childhood too. My prayers are with you!

Honey can you call your doctor Monday and tell him/her you are in a lot of pain? perhaps they can give you pain medication? I had a big tumor I took Motrin, can you take that? It helps the inflammaion from hitting the nerves.
Also play some relaxing music or a movie will help relax you and take your mind off the pain.
Best Always

I pamper myself a lot, which includes spending time how I want to, not necessarily buying myself things.
