Bob Uecker...
He played for the Milwaukee Braves, Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies, but he only played 6 seasons.
His stats are awful and look like what a mediocre player might get in 1 season, let alone six.
.200 batting average
7 homers
74 runs batted in
.293 on base percentage
731 at bats
146 hits
167 strike outs
65 runs scored
0 stolen bases with 3 caught stealing
He was a catcher and had 27 errors and 47 passed balls in only 271 career games.
He once said he was so bad that his team was scoring a bunch of runs and his manager said, "Bob, grab a bat, get in there and stop this rally...."

Hey, Moonlight never made an out at the plate!
Eddie Gaedel, Bill Veeck's "little person" was probably the worst. For a real player, I assume you mean more than just some cup-of-coffee guy.
Dave Kingman might be the worst guy ever to play in more than one All-Star Game.
He could hit home runs. Fine.
He had virtually no speed, usually didn't have much plate discipline, was a horrible outfielder, was hated by his team-mates, clubs couldn't wait to get ride of him, he was an ****** to the media and public in general...and yet some people talked about him going to the Hall without cracking up.
Awful player given any reputation ever of being good.

Bob Kammeyer pitched in one game for the NY Yankees in 1979. He faced 8 batters, he hit one and gave up hits to the other 7, including 2 HR.
His pitching line for the season was:
0 IP, 7 H, 0 BB, 0K, 8 R, ERA = infinity
I remember watching that game. It was surreal.

Everyone has forgot about the one player who is known for his mediocrity. It is Mario mendoza whose average was near or barely above .200, so now it is called the mendoza line.

Even though he didn't play in the majors, I have to go with Michael Jordan.
