Before I got any further let me give you a straight off answer first.....and it is "NO!!!"

Here is why

1. It was nice to see them putting 51 points against the Bengals, but then again, it is against the Bengals, whose defense ranks among the worst in the NFL

2. Cleveland's remaining schedule features...2 games against Baltimore, 1 against Pitt, 1 against New England, putting up 51 against those teams?? I don't think so....

3. I haven't seen Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow playing consistent football for.....well since they were in college, so let's just wait and see how many 100 yards and a couple TD games can they have left for this year.

4. You can't really be seriously if you expect Jammal Lewis to rack up another 200+ yards game can you??

5. Before this game, I can't even recognize the name of Derek Anderson, if I can still remember his name mid way through this season, then maybe the Cleveland has a chance...

6. This is the most important one: Right now it seems that New England, Pitt, Indy, and SD are the favorite to win their Division, so with that being said, Cleveland will be in contention against Baltimore, Cincy, Denver, Miami, Tennesse, and a really improved Houston, I'm sorry but I don't like the chances there

Yes, they certainly have a chance, and I've been saying it before this win and after the loss to Pittsburgh. People who are haters or just don't follow the Browns deny or ignore the significant upgrades they made in the off-season, and don't look at why they lost last year.

Last year they had a terrible o-line and were crippled by injury. And it's now quite clear that Charlie Frye was likely holding them back. Most of the players who were injured are healthy again, they added 2 new very good offensive linemen, and could get even better if Bentley is able to play at any point in this season.

The game against the Steelers looked bad, but they had SIX turnovers and the Steelers punter was having a career day giving the Browns terrible field position all day. That equals tons of points for your opponent, regardless of how good your D is. You can't expect that to happen every week.

Yes, the defense needs work, but I don't think it's as bad as the scores would indicate. Like I said, they had tons of turnovers and terrible field position the entire game against Pittsburgh, which translates into points for any half-decent team. This week they were facing one of the top 3 QBs in the league. He had one hell of a day, but a 400 yard passing game is never out of the question for Palmer, regardless of who he's playing.

As they showed this week, the offense has some serious firepower, and just needed to gel a bit and get someone in there who could run it efficiently. Just wait until we get a more accurate, smarter quarterback (Brady Quinn) in the lineup.

This team is not going to compete with the best teams in the league, but there are certainly 8 more games on their schedule they could win (starting with next week) which could put them into playoff contention. I'm not guaranteeing it, but anyone with a brain can see it's a possibility.

No. It means neither the Browns or the Bengals have what it takes to go to the playoffs.

properly they do play two times so whoever is at abode has he benefit yet in terms of the branch i think of the Browns would be a 6-10 team at suited and the Bengals perhaps a 9-7 team and conceivable wildcard team. the significant for the Bengals is their protection...if it holds they are in a position to have a sturdy season.

Yes, they'll be in Section 10, rows 1 and 2 in the stadium where the first game is held.

Sorry, i couldn't help myself.

I do like Brady Quinn and wish the Bears had him.

Either way, yeh, why not??? Anything can and will happen on any given Sunday in the NFL.

I do like underdogs, so go Browns!

No. As much fun as it was to watch that game and despite thte fact that Jamal Lewis was impressive, a team that gives up 45 points is probably not a playoff team, especially not in the loaded AFC.

Quit dreaming, they aren't going to. The Bengals have NO defense. I'm just surprised the Browns had THAT much offense. What this actually tells me is that they didn't look any better then they did against the Steelers on Defense. If teams move the ball at will on you then you aren't going to make the playoffs.

well since they got Brady Quinn i think that they could have a chance of going to the playoffs if they played like they did against the bengals

If they can score 51 in a game they will be in.
If they can give up 45 in a game they will not.
