Because they are so polarizing. They could care less about getting anything accomplished. Their main goal is to make Bush and the Republicans look bad. Even if it hurts the country...

i could choose to declare something quite sarcastic correct to the Dems being the reason of each and every undesirable element in the international, yet I won't. precisely how have the Democrats, who've merely been a majority in Congress foir 2 years and are even now no longer a supermajority limited the production of coal and oil? have been the Republicans merely no longer solid sufficient to vote those regulations down? And gasoline expenses are no longer what drove a number of those people into chapter 11. the main reason is living on credit, with clinical costs being superb in the back of that. And it quite is this Republican administration that has persevered to inspire "unfastened commerce" that has made it achievable for American countries to have their products produced in third international countries the place they simply pay a pittance quite than a living salary right here. and how has Democratic help of unions replaced something? they are in a position to't legislate union agreements and those are interior the top desperate between the union and the corporate in touch. yet your final sentence is the main telling. considering you're wealthy, you have benefited the main from the Republican administration, so why could you like the Dems to have any potential? sometime it is going to happen to you that by ability of destroying the middle type, you have lost all your clients.

It isn't the Democrats fault, it is that the republicans that are still are left that are keeping them from achieving.
Considering who we have as president now, I'd say they are doing a good job as past congresses who could have the same opportunity to work with someone like Bush as Prez. Remember that times change so it it not very accurate to compare them with a congress from say 1900 or 1936 or any other year.
Actually it is under this congress that we finally heard Bush talk about troop withdrawals. This would never be talked about if Republicans were still in control.

Because too many people don't understand politics. People too easily just believe what they hear. People keep hearing that the Democrats aren't getting anything done. Well, thats true. The thing is, people don't understand that they can't get anything done, and those people aren't willing to find out why they aren't getting anything done. They just know that they aren't and they believe it's the Democrats fault. They don't understand that a one vote majority really isn't a majority at all. Also, it is not just a poll saying Democrats are the reason that Congress is unpopular, it's saying Congress is unpopular. Democrats and Republicans.

Yes, but the polls show that the American public favors the Democrats.
I am frustrated that Congress isn’t getting things done and I would give them a low rating but I trust the Democrats to pursue an agenda that is favorable to the interests of the people, if they had enough votes, especially in the Senate.

There are still too many Republicans in Congress, obstructing the Democrats in getting us out of Iraq and in passing much of their proposed legislation.
Nevertheless, Democrats are way ahead of the Republicans in the polls and gaining more distance.
A poll this month shows that if the Congressional Election were held today, 50% of American voters say they would vote for the Democrat in their district. Just 32% would opt for the Republican.
A month ago, the Democrats' lead was just ten percentage points, 47% to 37%.

Because Harry Reid said that we have lost the war while we are right in the middle of an armed conflict. How un-American is that? He should have just stomped a kitty on national TV. Oh well no one cares. He will probably get re-elected by a large margin.

Because both Dems and Republicans are unsatisfied. The Democrats made promises during the '06 elections that haven't materialized, i.e. getting the troops out of Iraq. Republicans aren't getting what they want either.

However what you are leaving out is that when polled about individual congressman or senator, the ratings are much better. It is the congress as whole people are dissatisfied with which is nearly a 50-50 split.

All they do is try to find things to investigate President Bush. So far they have struck out on everything. How is this being productive? It isn't and people are sick of the arrogance and elitist attitude that Congress has.
Thus your low numbers.

The reason that the D controlled congress has the lowest rating in history is because they havent done anything they said they would. The troops are still in Iraq, we are still in a budget crisis, and 12 million illegals still are here. And they blame Bush for it when they cant agree.
