Mandalay is $100 more per night, but I'd be willing to pay that if you all think it's much better than Luxor and worth the extra money. What would you do?
Additionally, I will be there for a bachelor party. We are all in our 20s and our goal is to party hard. In other words I'm not some mid 30s guy looking for a wholesome place to bring the family for our vacation. So, please keep that in mind when you respond.
Please give your own opinion and don't link or cut and paste reviews from websites.

Im telling you by experience
I have stayed at the Luxor like 5 times and I mean its very nice and everything.. the shape is cool and the rooms arent to wow....
the Mandalay Bay is newer so thats a plus...i have stayed there 2 times the rooms are more comfortable and stuff.....you said you are going for a bachelor party so to tell you the truth i wouldnt stay in none.... more because i bet you guys want to go crazy drink and have fun!
I would stay in the MGM if you want in that side of the strip.... the rooms are nice and they have some of the bestest clubs in Las Vegas besides PURE in Cesars they have Studio 54 and Tabu...
Anyway if you decide on Luxor or Mandalay I would go for Mandalay....
if you change your mind I would go for MGM
also a good party hotel is the Palms, never forget the Palms =0)

I was there in February and we stayed at the Luxor. I live 45 minutes from Atlantic city, so I've had plenty of Casino experience. I wasn't wowed by the Luxor. The shape is cool, and the slanted window wall was interesting but it was just average. Mandalay is much nicer. If your going for a bachelor party, you might want to save the 100 bucks a night for "other activities" instead of getting a fancier room. I really liked the casino floor at the Luxor, but to be honest, if your willing to spend the money, you should stay farther up the strip. It takes FOREVER to walk anywhere from the Luxor or Mandalay as they are at the bottom of the Strip. Go for the Bellagio if you want to do it right, or stay at Paris for a little less.

I think the inside of Mandalay Bay looks alot nicer than the Luxor.

I have stayed at the Luxor twice and really enjoyed it. The uniqueness of the Pyramid is breath taking. About the noise that the other poster mentioned, I didn't notice it but I can see that happening if you are close to them.
The view from the upper floors is fantastic, but if you stay you have to ask for one higher up. The first time we didn't and got a bad view of the backside of the sphinx.
The food was good but since I don't party I can't comment on that.

I stayed at the Luxor once, wont go back.
The inclinators move up and down the pyramid all night long, and they are noisy.
Plus the slanted window is not easy to see out of.
Go to cheapo Vegas on the web.
Great site for regular Jose like us.

two wuality places a flip of te coin. if you can save $100 move to the other one.
