The answer is yes. Im in Reno where it gets VERY cold. There are people around town that have cacti in their yards. I have seen cholla cacti here and some prickly pear too.

Yes. I live in Arizona where we have plenty of cacti. I have been to Nevada a few times and yes their is plenty of cacti as well. Almost all of the west has some sort of cacti one way or another.
