First of all HUGE kudos on what you are doing. I have a friend who is going through the same thing. Why schools think they have to teach you so much so fast is way beyond me. Just try to remember that this will only be a few years of your life and when it is all over, it will be worth it. Make time for yourself every week, to only do something fun. Also maybe try studying in groups, to help eliminate some of the pressure of studying. Think back to why you wanted to go to nursing school and remind yourself of that when you are feeling down. Big hugs :)

Keep at it Nikki. Big bucks out there for good nurses! Think of the signing bonus!! Be more positive and hang in there. You've come this far have you not? Pretty soon you'll be working and life will get much easier. Nurses are the most hilarious bunch to work with. Think of the fun and the money and the joy of doing a job that helps others. Take a breath, take a couple hours off if you can and then get back at it! :)

As a CNA you're actually on the backside of the profession ladder related to pay and appreciate, despite the fact that you're might be the essential member of the healthcare workforce on the nursing dwelling. Nurses do not appreciate you. Physicians do not appreciate you. "She's only a CNA, she most effective went via a couple of months of institution. Why must we pay attention to her?" I had been in healthcare schooling for 20+ years. I have labored at an RN institution, an LPN institution, and now the institution I paintings at teaches CNA/CMA/HHA/MAT. My possess daughter is taking a CNA magnificence and he or she has truthfully stated one of the identical matters you are announcing. I suspect one of the nurses' conduct you are bringing up is also as a result of realistic burnout; as you recognize, there could also be a protracted nursing scarcity. Bless you for worrying approximately your citizens. They mostly don't have any one else who cares, now not even household. What you are going via will make you a bigger nurse. How to manage the nurses? You cannot difference them. Just maintain telling them whilst you believe a resident has a drawback.

On your free time visit local hospital. Get permission to visit the patients, probably with another nurse. Take the opportunity to get to know the patients, including medication nurse.
This may motivate you to continue to work hard to see your dream come true. Once you see the duties of the nurses, and the routine of the doctors this can lift your spirit.
Try to imagine the patients who will get to know you in the future. Of all the people you are going to be helping, because you took the hard initiative to work seriously to become a nurse. The surgeries you will be assisting, the medication you be dispensing, the medical advice that help to heal someone and mostly your warm smile that will give pleasure to the patients...God bless

My wife was a nurse for 40 yr before retiring. It is a very rewarding career with so many places to serve. A nurse can always find work full or part time. Reread the above answers. They have a lot of good advice in them. Good luck!

I am just going into my second week of nursing school and man it is overwhelming. You are not alone in thinking that, almost all the people in my class that I have talked to feel the same way. I couldn't believe how much they throw at you and how lost you feel. Hang in there, try to hook up with some people in your class, because they will understand how you feel.

Hang in there. It will be all worth it. I'm in this situation right now...read my first question I posted. I am making plans to go to nursing school...and with being separated from my husband, two little ones....it will be challenging. Not impossible, challenging. But it will be worth it. When you feel overwhelmed or down, start envisioning what you can get from it...nice house, car, etc.

While you don't give enough detail, take a night off and blow off some steam. Go party, get laid, and go home and sleep it off the next day. When you wake up fix some coffee, do your homework and get ready to start over. A night out does wonders for the energy level.
