I will not list the Avs in this answer due to superstitious reasons. So here is how I think the other four teams will do, remember, the Avs aren't on this list.

1. Calgary; Kipper, Iginla, Tanguay, and Phaneuf, that's pretty good.

2. Vancouver, they have the best goaltending in the NHL, not just the division, Luongo will carry the team on his back. Perhaps Naslund will regain his scoring touch.

3. Minnesota, this team is really on the fence here, if everyone stays healthy, they could be #1. However, if Gaborik is injured again, and if Backstrom turns out to be a one hit wonder, they could be dead last. Too much uncertainty, and too much expectations riding on two players' backs. That's why I put them at #3. Again, if they stay healthy, they could be #1. IF everyone stays healthy.

4. Edmonton, they got Penner, Souray and Pitkanen, which kind of a step forward, but let's face it, they're still a pretty bad team. They will most definitely ruin some poor teams season in April, they won't be too easy to play, they'll act as spoilers. However, they do not have the offensive or defensive talent to keep up with the other 4 teams in the division.

You can now throw the Avalanche anywhere you want on that list, I'm not doing it for you, because like I said before, I'm superstitious about these things.

1. Calgary - best goaltending in the division, and with Iron Mike behind the bench, a similar style to Darryl Sutter, they will prevail
2. Colorado - best offense in division (if not the conference), Francois Giguere spent the summer looking for a goalie, and trying to unload Theodore...with no luck
3. Vancouver - excellent defense, with little offense - the new New Jersey
4. Minnesota - over the last two years with Gaborik in the lineup, the Wild have the best winning percentage in the NHL - but I still think they will be behind the above three
5.
6.
7.
8.
9. Edmonton - not much to say here. Your number 1 goalie didn't become a starter until his 37....and now he's 38...that scares me
