i got a leopard gecko, he is awesome!!
i think you should get a leopard gecko. i got mine and i love him. what i like the most is when he hunts... its the most cutest thing you'll ever see! I especially love when i hold him. he crawls around my arms. also, they don't need much room, you only need a 10 gal tank for one. I think leopard geckos are inspirational!!

I honestly don't think you should let anyone else make that decision for you. A bearded dragon will get a lot bigger, so be prepared to invest on a big cage, or to upgrade when it gets bigger. Also, if you get a reptile that eats crickets, be prepared to have them running all over your house :P Both bearded dragons and leopard gecko's can make great pets if you take care of them properly. I'd say a bearded dragon is more active than a leopard gecko, but the gecko's are relatively easy to take care of. A bearded dragon will probably cost more in the long run, just because of it's size. Good luck with your decision!
P.S. Don't get the leopard gecko just because it's cheaper if you want the bearded dragon, or you'll regret it later

They are both REALLY cool lizards. But, if I had to choose between the two, it'd really be according to how big a tank I had. They are both pretty tame lizards. But, keep in mind that leopard gecko's are nocturnal, so you'd really only see them active at night. The bearded dragons are daytime lizards, and are VERY active. The bearded dragons are very fun to watch, but so are the leopard geckos if you want to watch at night. I would personally go with the bearded dragon. But, I ended up owning both lol. :)

You seem to be making the decision over the price of the reptile. But the price of the whole setup will be far greater than the animal itself. A complete setup for a leopard gecko will run about 100-120. A beardie will cost about $300.
The gecko stays smaller, and is easier to care for.
The beardie gets about 18-24 inches long, and requires high heat and expensive UVB bulbs, which need to be replaced every 6 months.

Depends on the size of the set-up you can afford. Bearded Dragons get pretty big, while Leopard Geckos stay small.

I have had Leopard geckos, and they really don't do that much. I would not recommend them if you want more of an active pet. Though it was not a hard thing to take care of.I have been told the the dragon is a better companion and it will interact with you. A man I was talking to about them, said he watches TV with his dragon on him all the time, and he loves them. They may require more work, that I'm not sure about. So it really depends if what kind of characteristics you want.

that's a tough choice, they're both great pets, but the bearded dragon can be a bit pricey.
It depends on what you like about an animal, if you like an active animal then you like that about bearded dragons, if you like an animal that sleeps when you're awake then you like that about a leopard gecko, and if you like an animal that gets big when it grows up then then you like that about bearded dragons.
Hope i helped!!!!!!!!!!

I've had a beardie for over a year now. I've been bitten twice. Neither time was painful. One was about 3 weeks ago, and I have no left-over mark. No blood was drawn. And he's fully grown.
Beardies get pretty big, and can be very expensive. Mealworms aren't really good for them. Their shells are too hard to digest. The best thing for beardies are Silkworms, or roaches. And, not the roaches you may find lingering in a basement. You need to special order them so you can be sure they are free of parasites. And it does get costly.
You'll probably spend 500 - 800 dollars on a beardie in the first 2 - 3 months.
