....what about Alan Greenspan's comments that Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton were the "smartest" Presidents he ever worked with?!?

No but Nixon was the greatest practitioner of Realpolitick and I think Hillary will be number #2 in that area. Maybe practitioners of it are smart (but it does require wide latitude in ethics and you have to be a little ruthless and willing to make deals with your rivals).

No, it does not. Otherwise, the Bushs would be included in that, and clearly he did not include them.

I haven't read the book yet (well, natch, not out yet), but likely he felt that they were thoughtful and savvy as to the ways of the economy.

Greenspan's book was basically written by his NYC elitist left wing liberal wife, Andrea Mitchell. His book is a tactic to get Democrats elected in '08. Especially, Hillary.
