I've been here for a while now, and I see question after question where supposed "fans" ask for or tell people to go to streaming/download sites which do not legally have permission to distribute shows (be it anime or cartoons). I'd like to know why "fans" do this instead of either watching the shows legally, or doing the legwork to find illegal streaming/downloads themselves / directing people to legal sources of a show. Does anyone have any answers?

1. They are lazy. If you are a true fan they would find the resources to find what they are looking for.

Well maybe they don't have the extra cash, for instance an dvd cost $20, that only has episodes 1-5 on it. There is another factor, maybe they want to see it before buying, wouldn't it be a waste if you bought a crappy animated movie. I thinks its pretty much like renting a movie or something. Although when I say they it includes me.

Because not everyone in the world can afford originals!!! Try being an otaku in a third world country like me!! You'll see just how hard it is to find originals so more AFFORD them! Heck even the more popular anime stores down here stick to selling fansubs cuz they're much easier to find and cheaper to produce!! >:(

If you wanna stop piracy, stop poverty first. Even the middle class people such as myself find original anime too expensive.

"Fans" would do anything to get their hands on what they want, if you were a fan of some ****, wouldnt you go online to find that video if you cant find it in stores or the TV or what not. you wouldnt understand it if your not a fan of those stuff, you wouldnt understand it if the english version dub sucks, id bet money that if some guy asks you for download sites for some anime that has an english version, you would say go watch the english version on TV, well english versions of most anime sucks, ive seen alot of crappy english versions to prove it
