I place the blame on the parents and the schools! When I went to school they used to discipline you by paddling you on the ***! Now it is against the law! Even the parents do not discipline their kids. About illegals they should learn English. That should be the nations official language. I think its bull when I call someplace and ask if I want English. I say learn English or go back where you came from. The problem will not go away by itself. We need to change the laws I am talking about. Especially in schools. Discipline is the answer. You have no rights until you are 18, at least that was the way it was when I was in school!

Well, the long and short of it, is education begins at home. If mom and dad don't show that learning is important, read to the kids when they're little, and teach manners at home, you get what you see now. Not to mention that discipline in school isn't like it used to be. Back when I was a youngun, if you got in trouble at school, you got it again at home, too. Now, if a teacher looks crossways at a student, the "parents", using the term loosely, are ready to sue the s**t out of everyone and everything in the building.
Then you have this "self-esteem" crap, where you can't fail a kid for not doing the work. Horseshit! Either you learn or you don't, simple as that. The way I see it, the schools end up wasting a lot of time on the kids that don't give a damn about being there, instead of educating the kids that do. About the only way to get a decent education before college is either private or home schooling, along with having parents in the home that give a damn. Parents in the home that give a damn is the main thing. Parents that give a damn about the kid, not the check or benefits they get for spitting it out.

Its not the kids, its the system. teachers are free to come to class anytime they want and grade students the same, you know what they still get paid no matter if their students succeed or not. who do the teachers blame, the parents for not giving them enough money. shame on them for saying so, the kids that do the best are in schools that use much less money.
so why can't we force them to actually need to work in order to make money. in europe the money it attached to the child, so if the child leaves for a new school the teacher doesn't make money. students there are much smarter, america is way below other countries.
when they compete you win, look at the phone companies, computers, restaurants. they all try to be better than each other for more business.
they should also have an agreement with the parents so they can help out also.

I don't think we can blame the illegals for this one. We've been catering to the dumbest common denominator for the last 25 years. In the name of political correctness and not wanting anyone to feel bad for not learning as fast as the other kids, we have sold our children down the river. Multilingualism doesn't help the situation, that's true, but it's only a symptom.

Nothing and no one could lower your standards any more than they are. Those immigrant kids would know a loy more about life than a blockhead like you.
