how do you deal with people that try to defame and rubbish your character?

this british girl and a guy said to me no american persons will like me and all of them hate me because of my french nationality.
plus i know of a few people who are spreading bad rumours about me that are false, to make me look bad...how can i deal with this?
plus, do all americans hate me, dislike me?

Only prejudiced americans would hate you for your origin.
I wouldn't pay too much attention to it. America is a place with over 200 million people, over 200 million different opinions, just go and make the best of it.

Those that dislike you for your origin or spread rumours, don't know themselves yet and should not be taken serious.

no i dont think all americans do, but maybe some. As for people spreading bad rumors about you just shrug it off if you know its untrue. If you know its not true, there is no reason to worry. Sometimes I worry too much, about what other people think. The truth is, if someone lies about you and tries to make you look bad, the real burden will be on them. There's a saying that goes when you lie, you need to make up a thousand lies to support it. Some where along the line, someone will say something untrue about them and they'll see how it feels.

omg dude, you know better than that... who are these wierdos that have to f#^!* with your life so much? have they nothing else at all to occupy their drab and stifled little lives? don't even hesitate next time they say all Americans will dislike you because i have a few friends reading your stuff on answers not to mention myself and we all like you- i will even give you names: susie, tom, jodi, delilah and chace. so tell them you already have friends here in las vegas.
as far as the french heritage is concerned, delilah especially thinks it is very sexy and charming-
so tell them go blow smoke out their ears for all you care, you are a much better and stronger person than they are...too bad for them.

Honey, I get talked about so much, that I wouldn't know the person, that they are talking about, is me..remember the song, The Harper Valley PTA?...all about gossip..oh yes, that is one of the main things in the world..I don't know who these people are, who are chidding you..but you should laff at them, and tell them that that is just their opinion..after all, I'M AMERICAN AND I LIKE YOU!!!
