Hi,
I've been dating my girlfriend for 14 years (on and off) and now have been living together for 2. I've noticed that she's constantly complaining, being negative, and criticizing people. Nothing is enough and every time we argue, I'm always at fault (it's always me: if I say something, my fault. If she says something, it's the way I take it, again my fault...). She then says 'I don't want to talk more about it' and that's the end of the conversation (the 'silence treatment').

Is this some kind of disorder that she's (we've) got? If it is, does it have a name?
Thanks bunch

No it's the warning sign of not being happy with her life. But she hasn't recognized it yet. This is going to be really hard on you, because I sense you really care for her. What you have to keep in mind is people change as they get older. Sometimes they just grow apart. I think that is what has happened between you two.

You need to sit her down and ask her if she's happy in the relationship? And tell her that if she needs space and time, that you will give her what she needs. The best thing you can do is let her go. If her reaction is quite the opposite, then something else is going on, but whatever it is, you two really need to discuss it before things get out of hand.

Best Wishes from Minnesota

Called being a woman, no other medial term needed here. Sounds like shes very unhappy and thus your relationshipis in serious trouble now. You need to figure out wether the time has come to end it and move on orstay under these circumstances until you two kill each other. Not a good scenerio here but relationships do end for no apparent reason other than both just grew apart. Good luck
