This is my first year in yearbook and my first 2 spreads are Administrative and Teacher. Honestly I think that these are boring topics, and I would like to make it interesting for students to read. They also have to be appropriate (obviously) and we need 15-20 pictures for each spread! (it seems like a lot for a boring topic, and I don't have any time (study halls / lunch etc) to take pictures of teachers) Any ideas on how to make such a boring topic semi-interesting and how to take pictures other than just a teacher's face etc?

Another great idea. Thanks. The only problem is I don't know when I am going to have time for all this. Taking pictures of teachers and writing up a boring paragraph is easy, but interviewing and finding more interesting facts (etc), takes much more time. I am already staying before and after school for extra school help for AP and honors courses and I have approx. 4 hours of homework per night, so I'm not sure how I can have time to get pictures of teachers out of school.

Get a picture of each teacher outside of school, perhaps doing a favorite hobby. Maybe your English teacher has an excellent garden. Maybe the math teacher is learning to fly a plane (or is a certified pilot). Find out things about the teachers that you and your fellow students find surprising. Hobbies, family members (my former hairdresser, Maria, is the mother of Nirvana's Krist Novoselic!), jobs that the teachers may have done before getting their teacher's certificates (maybe somebody worked at a grocery store, or worked at a plant nursery--this could be a fun "Who Did This?" type of game). There are endless possibilities!

Have fun with this. These are not "boring topics." Remember, the Administrative and Teaching Staff are people just like you. They went to high school just like you are doing now! Ask them questions, like what they wanted to be when they were in elementary school, what is their secret "bad habit" (perhaps someone is a major chocoholic or sometimes eats ice cream for dinner).

Good luck!! And remember, have fun with this!!

ask some of the teachers to bring in a baby picture of themselves and then play a guessing game in the yearbook..Kind of like guess who is who!
Like match the baby pic with the current teachers picture...

Good luck. We did it in my high school and the teachers loved it and were very willing to bring in pictures for us. It was fun to play guess who.
