I agree with the first answerer. The man is a genius, and some of his lesser-known songs are truly his best. I remember working as a camp counselor for 3 and 4 year-olds when I was 16. Every day was a bit crazy - the ride there (on a sweaty bus) took an hour and after nine to ten hours of being climbed on in the hot summer sun I would be exhausted. That entire summer I listened to two of Paul's lesser known albums, "One Trick Pony" and "Hearts and Bones". As I left for home on those days I would fall into a half-sleep listening to that music. It moved me beyond words. I recall reading "The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy" that year, and seeing that Adam's dedicated it to the album "One-Trick Pony". One of the greatest homages ever. That was the only time in my life I could be so relaxed. I loved the kids but home life was hectic and hellish. I rarely relaxed and I was a bit of an insomniac. That I was able to find such solace in Paul's lyrics and his music was a saving grace. The man astounds me to this day, although I haven't loved an album of his since "The Capeman" in 1995. It's more than alright. The man's got quite a discography. Someone above mentioned the song "Duncan", another favorite of mine. I get what feel like flashbacks sometimes when these songs are mentioned. I have a much more eclectic taste now and listened to Paul's music over and over for so many years I kind of tired myself of it for awhile, but now I long to listen again. Thanks for being a part of bringing it all back. I am listening to "Hearts and Bones" now. I haven't been this moved by music in years.
Thanks for asking such a cool question, M. Are you a Simon fan as well?

I followed Simon and Garfunkle since the mid 1960s and even saw them in concert once. I'm not sure what you mean by "lesser known", but I love the Graceland album. I haven't heard "The Rhythm of the Saints" of Surprise" (which is a collaboration with Brian Eno (fame of Lone Rhinocerous). I'll have to go pick them up!
