I'm going to give my son the 1999 Dodge Intrepid we have, he is 16 and he is going to get his license soon. He loves to do modifications with cars...We already debadged everything for that clean look.....We sanded and spray painted the bottom half of the car black lol (there were many scratches, so the black spray paint hid all of them) but the spray paint is holding up good (even through two winters.) Anyways What else can we do to this project car, that doesn't cost a lot of money, i don't want him putting too much money into this car.

I'm not sure it is a very sensible idea. Spending money on cars is like opening up a sewer and just throwing money into it. Whatever you spend, you lose. So why teach him to waste his money on cars? Teach him to save up and buy a better car.

Dodge has had a few problems with the Intrepid and their other midsize cars. What about the mileage? A/C? Trans ? Maybe you can let him trade it in for a small truck? If it is still in good shape I would concentrate on the above as well as teach him to save for emergencies.
