I have 2 laptops both with wifi and want to know how to set up an ad hoc network between them!

My Main laptop is Xp and the other is vista!
As detailed as you can please!

It does work but does require some work to get working!
Here is the VISTA setup information

And here is the XP setup information

On the xp you can skip the Internet connection sharing part unless you need to route to the internet also.
You also have to have BOTH setup for networking in the same workgroup etc if you wish to share files. I would setup the network part first. Then setup the ad-hoc system.
Since both of the above are step by step I didn't include all the steps.

i belive there are some `teething ` problems with `vista` `xp` mixed networks.there is more information on microsoft site .hope this helps

xp, go to internet options in control panel and look through there... vista, i dont know
