Exactly, we throw a lot of our own people under the bus to go help someone else who doesn't appreciate it, or comes to feel they're entitled to it in some way, or thinks we're a stupid and can't wait to take advantage of us, or use us trying to help to further their own agendas by inciting nationalistic tendencies against us and elevating themselves ( AKA Hugo Chavez )and using us as their scapegoats.

Good evening NYC. I strongly believe that America should not be the Policeman of the World or the place of refuge for every troubled nation. Other countries need to step up to the plate and do more rather than rely solely on America's wealth, resources and power.

I, basically, say the same as you do. We have too many of our own people that need help to just ignore them and take care of all these others. I do believe in assisting people in other countries if we have anything left after caring for our own.

unfortunately for america, it's a lose-lose situation.

if we do help the world, we're accused of budding into other people's business.

if we don't help the world, we're accused of ignoring their needs.

and as for opening our doors, we should have learned that we need to be more selctive with who we allow in.
