You are too young for most neighborhood odd jobs. How about checking with family members to see if you can do some chores for pay. Things like raking leaves, walking the dog, etc.

Is this trip with the school or some other organization? Perhaps they will have some kind of fundraiser.

Is this like some program to learn about another country?

Because this lady and her son were in front of my grocery store selling small packages they had put together, I think the package had a brownie, some cocoa powder and something else and they were selling it for 5$ or higher donations. Along with the packet of stuff came a flyer which had the kids story on it, about some ambassador program where he can go learn first hand about things in that country. And it had a phone number and po box in case someone wanted to sponsor him for more after they've read it. It moved me that a little kid would have that much interest in the world and his future so i mailed them $50.
People care if a child shows that much incentive and desire.

Or you could be creative and be like that guy that started out with a paperclip on craigslist or ebay or whatever it was. On his advertisement he would give a short description of how he was trying to see if he could keep trading up until he got all the way to a car or something like that. Example: he traded his paperclip for a pen, traded the pen for a penant, the pennant for a baseball, the baseball for a football, the football for a lamp, the lamp for a file cabinet, the file cabinet for a desk and so forth and so on. Maybe you could do that until you have something you could actually sell for $3000 or close to it as you babysit and do other things for the rest. If you do this be sure to tell why you are trying to trade up in the advertisement. people like to help others who are trying to help themselves. good luck kid!

Try asking your neighbors. Mowing lawns, raking leaves, shoveling snow, and pet walking/sitting are pretty common chores that most people wouldn't mind having a neighbor kid do for them.

Also, ask your parents if they can open up a savings account for you. That way, you can put your money in it and earn some interest on whatever's there. It won't be a huge amount, but every little bit helps!

If you collect coins, *DON'T* use those coin counting machines. They charge you for them so it's just giving money away. Get some free coin rolls from the bank, and roll and deposit them yourself.

Good luck!

A few ideas:

1.) Lemonade Stand

2.) Recycling Cans

3.) Doing Errand for Family Members

4.) Dog Walking

5.) Asking for Donations

It will be hard to make $3,000 if you are only 10 years old. If you are going with an organization check to see if they can save grocery receipts.

I don't know what area you are in, but if there is a Sam's Club near you purchase boxes of candy and sell them to your peers. They have all sorts of wholesale boxes of candy you can purchase for reasonable prices and make profit off of. Me and my sister did this when I was like 13 to make money to go on a trip. We made $2000 in one summer. Hope it helps

I think they would let you do dog walking for working people too busy to walk their dogs .

Are your parents letting you go to another country at this age ?
Who will cover you if kidnapped by the ransom bandits ?

My question:
Why is a 10 year old needing $3,000 to go on a trip?
