Today I purchased a netgear wireless router to connect my Dell computers Comcast internet to the 2002 ibook I was recently given. The ibook previously ran an Enternet 300 program for their internet.

First I loaded the program onto the Dell and I know have the router hooked up to the modem.

However when I tried to load the disc onto my ibook after chosing a language and picking set up it came up with a bulletin that said "an error ocurred while parsing the TML file" and it was headed as being an Internet Script error.

The specialist at the Radioshack I went to did not know how to solve the problem and I found it incredibly hard to work with customer support at NetGear.

I was hoping that somebody could bring to light what the problem is and how to fix it.

Thank you (in advance), Jessica

Jessica, The disc that came with the Netgear Router is for PC use only.
You don't need it for your Mac.
Connecting and using a Router for the first time can be a little confusing for a Newbie.
Your best bet is to do one of 2 things.
Get out the yellow phamplet and read it carefully. If you are not familiar with some of the terminology, use

to learn them.
2nd Get a friend to come by and give you a hand.
This is really quite simple and can be done in less than 15 minutes.
The truth of the matter is, you don't even need the cd for either PC or MAC.

first is, since you mentioned that your ibook has the enternet 300, might be that the OS of the computer is still the 8th or the 9th. you need to upgrade it to at least 10.4 so you could hook it up to the router manually. an installation CD might NOT work because first is, it might not be compatible with your ibook, 2nd is, for mac, it would work better to an airport router only, not just to any router. or you can always contact apple care at 1 800 500 7078

Firstly you do not need to load anything to connect to the router. Use the ibook connection tool to connect.

The software I got with my router (D-link) also didn't work from the CD. I went to their website (in your case: netgear.com) and downloaded the latest software. This cured my problem.
