You want to sound like you know what you are talking about and spell it correctly too. All this brain power can be a daunting task causing anxiety and not to mention that we are being rated on our answers. As humans......most of us want to do our best.
As for those who ask questions, there are very serious and sometimes embarrassing questions that would make the asker nervous too. They might think what people think of them.
For me, it is also an adrenaline rush as I try to help someone and hope I do. The awards and points can cause anxiety because you want to reach the next level or get Top Contributor. It's a normal and human reaction.It all causes our heart rate to increase. You need that blood flow to the brain to answer. Personally, I type long emails because I want to do my best and have many questions that I am not given enough info to answer . I think some that put in a couple of words or a sentence or two, do not put as much effort as I have tried to do. It takes me time and a whole lot of thinking to type all that I do. It is my inquisitiveness and my desire to help that adds to a lengthy answer...as you can see here.
