The media. Because they think it's news, and it gets ratings. It's easy money for them.
One more point... if a celebrity doesn't want to be bothered by the media, then they should keep their personal opinions and lives to themselves. Especially the political crap. Shut your celebrity pie holes!

American are dying in Afghanistan and Iraq, we are on the verge of invading Iran, scientists are discovering new cures for diseases, so why would you waste an iota of your time on a celebrity who possess no real talent and no real accomplishments?
