Why not find out what others are interested in, like a club or some sorts, and join it, then you will have mates and automatically have similar interests so you will have something to talk about and break the ice.

I love that English term 'mate'! First of all you must never label yourself anything - everyone is boring once in while - doesn't make you a boring person. You have to find your passions in life and then go from there. What are you interested in? Reach out to people - volunteer your time. Keep yourself busy. Would help me if I know how old you are. Why don't you add another question with your age, where you are - you might find some mates that way.

First dump the idea your boring, how are other people going to relate to you, if you have such a negative attitude towards yourself.
If you think your boring, others may well agree so already you have common ground! But thats not the kind of friendship to grow is it?
So start NOW and take an interest in YOU the rest will follow.
Good luck.

Why do you think you are boring...you probably try and be mates with the wrong people who don't have the same interests as you thats all....you can't make people be your friend try looking for mates who have similar hobbies and interests as you

1: Threats.
2: Bribes.
3: Pleading.
....and not necessarily in that order.
(and if you are attempting this through a written application, then correct spelling 'might just be useful.' >you're< translates into 'you are,' whereas you meant to use 'your')
By the way, you are not a 'boring person,' you just choose to 'behave as one.' It just reinforces what you believe and keeps you there (in safety).
I wish you jolly good luck.
Sash.

Mates use you, scrounge and steal from you and drop you in it first chance they get!
but
If you really insist upon meeting people in order to make friends, then join some clubs that reflect your interests - sports, art, music etc.
Ask questions and show that you're interested in their views - people like it when others show an interest in them and will warm to you immediately.

just be a good friend and be honest and loyal. you don't have to be outgoing and witty to be a good mate. people will realise your good qualities and you will make good lasting friendships. you only need a couple of good mates, rather than loads of not particularly loyal mates.
