There is a new rule that one player from each team is allowed on the field with an in-helmet headset. This is usually the quarterback on the offense, and one of the captains on the defense.

The green sticker lets the officials know who is wearing a headset.

The headset is usually turned off with 10 to 15 seconds left on the time to get the play off.

The green dot indicates the player with a communication headset in his helmet. Only one player on each team is allowed on the field for each play.
