How can I get the smell of spilt milk out of my car???

Question

I left a gallon of milk in my trunk and found it three days later where it spilt under the back seat of my car! What should I use to clean it that would help get the horrible smell out?!? Help

you,ll probably have to take the seats out and clean them,and also shampoo the carpet also,if it got in the carpet,that's a horrible smell and hard to get rid of,cleaning and airing it out will eventually get rid of all the smell in it,been there and done that before ,good luck with it.

I used to work in the refrigeration industry , and I came across many jobs where milk/cream was spilled in a refrigerator and got into the insulation .

I can tell you right now that NOTHING you do will get rid of spoiled milk odour completely . There`s really no difference between rotten meat and spoiled milk .

Once the odour is there , it`s usually there for good ! You can try cleaning the area with a carpet shampooer , drying it out then spraying with whatever you think might work . In many cases though , it can actually make the smell worse , believe it or not .

You could also get estimates on tearing out the floor carpeting and having it replaced after the floor has been thoroughly washed with bleach .

You might also have to have the seats totally re-upholstered .
However , whether even this will completely eliminate the odour is questionable .

Here's an inexpensive and fragrance free product that is the perfect solution that eliminates the same odor from refrigerators so why not cars! I know so many other people that use it. It is a natural fragrance free carbon product called FRIDGE IT odor absorbers -little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is really, really, great and eliminates odors for a long time. It works so much better than baking soda all those sprays, and fragrances that just cover up smells and doesn't get rid of them. Just place a few inside car and trunk and forget about it.. No spills or chemicals or powder to worry about. Each only costs a couple of dollars. I use this product everywhere including car(smoke and pet smells), storage, closets, my fridge and and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like linens and things. I also think camping world sells it. I also know you can buy direct [e-mail]...

You have to completely get rid of all of the organic source of the spill the milk the Oder is coming from the milk left in the carpet.
It needs to be cleaned the best you can clean it then use an enzyme type cleaner ---it takes time ! Sorry.
Try a product called Zorb, or Smells be Gone
the more rotten milk out can remove the faster it will work

well you could try a carpet cleaning machine but doubt it would do anything. if you really want to keep the car i suggest removing whatever it is that go soaked in the milk and replacing it after scrubbing the metal with detergent

You can't -- that happened to me and we ended up selling the car. We tried everything -- and it still smelled gross.
