I just purchased a Linksys WRT150N Wireless-N router and Linksys Wireless-N notebook card and still cannot get a good connection downstairs. I was wondering if there is any way to use my old Linksys WRK54G as a repeater or use it anyway to boost the signal to downstairs. Thanks!

If your old router has WDS and the new router has WDS you certainly can. That is was Wireless Distribution Systems do!

So check and see if both have WDS settings. Put the new routers MAC address into the old one and the old ones MAC into the new one. You now have a "repeater".

If you old one does not show WDS as as option you can load it with the http://dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/index.php software and expand its capabilities.
ADDED -- SORRY THE WRK model wont work with DD-WRT to let this happen so see the cable method below.

You can always RUN a cable between them, turn off DHCP on the OLD router and it will be come an access point connected to the new router.

This is a router, it can not be used as a repeater. You need a wireless access point or range extender. 2 routers on one connection cause conflicts in any case.
