Yes I have done it several times and it enables you to get the house you want. The down sides are if you live there you live with the mess too so consider carefully lol

I've lived in a house that was renovated but it was about 6 years ago in Los Angelos. My house was huge. JUST Color can change the size

Yup, it's damn hard work. Coming home everyday from work and having to paint and plaster etc... and living in a building site isn't that fun either. However it is one of the most rewarding things I've ever done and I wouldnt have changed that experience for the world.

Bought a burned out bungalow for 60,000 spent 60,000 on rebuilding it as a country cottage sold it ten years later for 450,000.
