my boyfriend has a 91 bronco II that he had rebuilt (engine, transmission, EVERYTHING is new). he was driving it home from work one day (about 2 months later) and it cut off while he was driving. when he tries to crank it, it just makes a clicking sound.

any ideas to what may be wrong??

tell your boyfriend to find the starter solenoid on the fender take a screw driver and jump the two big terminals if nothing happens turn on the headlights see how bright they are to verify the battery power next take a hammer and tap the starter while someone cranks if brushes are worn lots of times this will start the vehicle then you know the starter needs to be replaced. If nothing time to buy a multimeter and start checking circuits and diagnosing. Remember replace starter and solenoid in pairs when buying new anything electrical is as strong as it's weakest link.
