what would you say is the better processor a Pentium D single core w/ Hyper Threading @ 3.2Ghz or a Pentium D dual core @ 3.2 Ghz? And would a core 2 duo with less Ghz's still be better in terms of speed.

I assume you mean Pentium 4 with HyperThreading, as there is no such thing as a single core Pentium D (the D stands for dual core). The Pentium D would be better, as two actual cores is always better than a single core with HyperThreading of the same speed. A Core 2 Duo with lower Ghz would be better than either, even if it was as low as 1.6Ghz.

the Pentium D dual core is better, due to the multitasking without the computer freezing. A core 2 duo with less GHz will still be better cause of the duo core which clock at a faster speed than which is stated.
