Has to be my Mother ...
She sacrificed EVERYTHING for us , her family , including leaving her own family at 19 only to see them once on 60 years !
Post war England was a nightmare for all but for someone used to living in a close family with relative luxury to go to a situation of living in total isolation , no friends , strict rationing of basic foodstuffs plus language & cultural differences it was difficult in the extreme !
Then to migrate to Australia , rebuild , raise a family with NO support network ......she did an INCREDIBLE job & I thank God for giving her to me as my Mum !
So , to be losing her now to that scourge of the modern age , dimentia , is heart breaking to say the least .....

Is my uncle's wife considered family?
This person is the most stoic and good natured person you could encounter.
Had all kind of adversities thrown at her ( where do i start? raised 4 kids while working in a 7 days business ( house behind the milk bar). 2 of them hearing impaired and another one hearing impaired and autistic) married a gambler ( my dear uncle) so all the hard work and nothing to show for.
One of my cousins married a lunatic who after all the heartache left him with 2 toddlers that she is now raising.
She understandably has the worst health, has just turned 60 but is still working.
yet, she is great company, joke cracking, fun to be with, interesting to talk to and I simply adore her.

My mom, she's strong, she looks old but she's never tired, she wakes up at 4 AM to go to work, comes home, cooks, cleans and never complains. At the end of the day she still has time to learn about my day. She's attentive, she donated money to help her country after the earthquake hit Peru last month, money that she really doesn't have. She puts her children before anyone else. Her sad eyes have so many stories to tell but they don't because she's too strong to ever allow her children to see her weak. She's the word independent personified, she's my super mom

Wow Reiko !!!That is sweet from you. LOVE YOU !!!!
I have to say that my mom..
She has lost almost all the ones she loved.
She lost her father when was 10 months old, then her mom...she formed a family and lived happily for several years..she lost her 7 sis and bro (she was the younger one), in middle of that my dad passed away and also my brother 2 years ago.
In spite of that, she still has a sweet smile for everyone, and is a caring and loving woman, that lives for her grandchildren now.
All the pple that knows her......loves her
To have her, is my blessing.

My parents - neither of them graduated high school, became parents at a very young age, have been married for 36 years, and raised 3 successful college graduates. And we are raising our own children with the family values and respect that they taught us.

My grandmother. She was the punching bag (verbally) for my grandfather, my mother, and her sister, yet still always kept on with being cheery, happy, smiling, and best of all LOVING. She never held grudges, she never was ugly towards anybody. She is the best example of how a person is supposed to be.
Now she has alzheimer's. So sad.

My late-father and my husband (they are so much alike that I chose to talk about them both)...because they are kind hearted, always helping others, working hard to support their family (win/win situtation for me) and both could put up with me without complaining
