okay so i have had this hermit crab for awhile now i just put in a bunch of shells for him to change into and he wont ????

They don't always change shells, unless the one they are in is no longer comfortable and you should get shells similar to what he already has only a size up.
I hope you do know to keep sand in the bottom of the cage, we had an aquarium, had 3 crabbies in a small cage with about 4 inches of sand on the bottom, they would moult once a year, shed their shells and resurface. If you do not have sand in the bottom, they will only live about 6 months or so if that. We had ours for about 3 yrs before they died.

ive had a ton of hermit crabs and most of them didnt end up changing their shells because they didnt need to, but have shells that are a bit bigger than their current ones and they might end up changing if they feel their current home is too small
