1] First, figure out your body type [ pear, plus, boyish, petite, or busty ] so you can buy clothes that work with your figure.
2] then, figure out if you are a COOL or WARM.
COOL colors:
white, pinks, cherry red, coral, lemon, mint, kelly, forest green, sky, royal, navy, lavender, plum, gray, black, and silver jewelry
WARM colors:
ivory, tomato red, peach, orange, rust, golden yellow, lime, kelly, olive, aqua, turquoise, teal, purple, caramel, coffee brown, and gold jewelry
3] choose pant or skirt suits, in your best neutrals [ gray, navy, black; or caramel.olive, coffee brown ] Add shoes [ closed toe, no sandals ] and belts in same colors
4] choose tops [ blouses, wrap blouses, turtlenecks, twin sets ] in your best brights and pastels for most flattery
5] invest in some dresses, as well
6] collect classic pieces of jewelry in 'your' [ silver or gold ] best metal - studs, hoops, neckchains, cuff, bangles, gemstone rings
7] buy a few pairs of great fitting jeans, in various cuts or washes
8] get some great fitted Tshirts [ womens ] in all your best colors - dress up for work, or down for the weekend
9] have nice weekend clothes, for errands, dates, and company picnic!
10] get some exercise clothes in good colors, to keep your great new shape!

Not that I know of....
All you need to start are a few basic pieces that can take you from the office to the "party" after work....
At least one pair of smart black/ brown/ dark blue pants, a tailored skirt, once again in a neutral colour.... A jacket that could be worn with all of the above (and/ or a soft woollen cardigan/ jumper) and finally some shirts..... you could choose basic white / cream or go for your favourite colours, ie. light blues or greens, pinks or purples.......
Generally, the more neutral the shades, the more 'everything' will go with 'everything else'...... ( I just love colour too much!)
If you are also really into colour, you should have your 'colours' done by a professional and then you can buy coloured pieces that will suit your skin tone and compliment your outfits too!....
