He does not get fastened. he's termed "Frodo Of The 9 palms" for something of his days. i do no longer understand why the action picture does not prepare it, the action picture transformations lots from the books and countless the transformations are critically for the extra serious.

I'm pretty sure the book mentions that the elves have mastered the art of plastic surgery and they graft him a new one.

i'm pretty sure that happens at the end of the empire strikes back or something, except he gets a whole new hand! but maybe it just grew back, like they do.
