If baseball is reinstated for the 2016 Summer Olympics and Chicago is the host city for the Olympics, which baseball stadium would you prefer having Olympic Baseball being held at and why?

You choices are Wrigley Field where the Chicago Cubs have played since 1914 and U.S. Cellular Field (formerly Comiskey Park) since 1991.

If baseball was reinstated for the 2016 Summer Olympics and Chicago host the Olympics, I would prefer the baseball be held at Wrigley Field because of its historical signifigance to baseball and many baseball players from all over the world have played at Wrigley Field.

You are correct to say that, from a historical perspective, Wrigley should be the choice. However two other things to consider:

1- The number of games being played may force the OC to use both parks.
2- Logistically, it would be much easier to do it at the Cell. Wrigley is right in the middle of a residential area. Lack of parking and expressway access would make it a difficult place to play.

All things considered, Wrigley should be the spot. But I think both parks should/could/would be used.

Wrigley. Besides the aesthetic appeal of it over the Cell, amateur baseball, even in the Olympics (and even in a great baseball town like Chicago) never sells out, so there no need to fret over the +15k or so seats that the south side offers.

If:
a. baseball is reinstated, and
b. Chicago gets to host, and
c. professional players are allowed to participate,

well then, maybe the additional seating would be important.

The history and charm of Wrigley would make it my hands-down choice. Also consider that US Cellular Field is in a much rougher part of town; the last thing we would need is some kind of incident to occur.

Personally,i love U.S. Cellular Field cuz its just a beautiful ballpark and i mean i just went there the other day to see a white sox game, and you get such a great view of the city of Chicago.

I have been to Wrigley before, and i honestly didnt like it,because i just thought that it was so hard to get around but i cant speak for everyone when i say that.

Given the amount of games played in the Olympics, both stadiums would probably be utilized. If you were running the Olympics wouldn't you want to work with both franchises.
