Disconnect the power cable first.

Remove the round cap that covers the bobbin. Usually by depressing cap slightly & rotating.

Inspect the bobbin. The plastic line may be jammed. Unjam it. Thread about 3" out through the little slot. Replace bobbin cap, usually by fitting the four little prongs into their openings, then twist bobbin cap into secure closed position.

If you have run out of line completely you'll have to buy more. Spool this new line onto the bobbin, thread it out as above, etc.

Good luck. When these things reach a certain age the line just doesn't feed out properly. So you have to learn to open the bobbin & pull some line out by hand. Or buy a new machine.

This one is easy....Go to Sears and tell the salesperson that you'd like to see a string trimmer with the "hassle-free" head. They make both gas and electric models. Neatest thing since sliced bread - no more "banging" the thing on the ground, no rewinding line onto a spool (turning the air purple with curse words as you attempt this). Get one - you'll thank me.
