if you were to get caught in quicksand you first need to calm yourself and let yourself sink until you stip since you can not drown in quicksand your body is too boyount then you work yourself to the edge of where the quicksand is and climb out you may need assistance with that but its not fatal if you are in quicksand

Yes, you will float in quicksand just like you float in water, only the movement is much slower due to the thickened medium.

Its suggested you lie on your back to float but some quicksand will hold you fast and special equipment may be needed to extract you.
