It will sound like someone dropped a pocketful of change into your engine, then one day it will just go "boom, clunk clunk, thud!" and die on the side of the road.

Oh wow. I remember when that car came out. i was 16. LOL I feel old now. But, the Eagle Talon is almost the same car as the Mitsubishi Eclipse. They both have piston problems. My exBF was racing his Eclipse and blew a piston threw the hood. But he was also spraying NOS. I would say have a mechanic estimate it first. You might have to have an engine hoist and many shop tools. My Ex used a tree and a pully to lift his engine but then it stayed hanging from a tree until he sold it. So I don't know if he could have fixed it. You know people will tell you to get a new car because this one is old, but in the long run it's cheaper to fix the one that is paid for and then soon you know everything about it. I'm a chick and I replaced my alternator, water pump and serpentine belt myself when I was 22. I knew everything about my car and had complete confidence in it.

Before it happens, try to check the motor oil (dip stick)and if among the motor oil you see a glow or sparking, you are about to blow a piston rod.
That's due the friction between metal pieces in the interior of the motor.
If you want to prevent it,change the motor oil for synthetic oil,and add a (Lucas motor treatment) in order to try to save it.
If you are about to pour the (Lucas treatment) don't forget to double check the oil motor's capacity, add the motor oil treatment first.
Good luck...

You don't know it just happens at high (RPM's) speeds like on a drag strip.

If you "spin a bearing" on the connecting rod then you will hear the rod crashing into the crankshaft journals since the bearing metals will be gone.

Good Luck!

What makes you think you are going to have it? Did you get your car engine rebuilt recently? If so, it is hard to tell, if not, then, you can do a compression test to check if one or more cylinder pressure is low or giving irregular readings.
