ronie luvr, why would I solicit in my garden? I am not a whore, but what others do there is not my concern, my only interest is coal, coal, lovely coal.

if you are in America you can dig it for your own use , but, you are not allowed to sell it, as it belongs to who has the mineral rights in your area, but, most people won't bother you unless you get to big and sell to much.

Wish I had something useful in my garden like a coal seam. All I have is lumps of shiney quartz like stuff that cuts glass! Can't do anything with it except use it as hard core in my drive. Makes the gravel look nice though!

I think you may be winding us up.
However, if you are not and the house and land is yours you need to check your deeds out. I am sure there will be a clause that you cannot do any mining in your garden if you are in an area where there are coal deposits. After all you may go 'undermining' your house (lol)

No, that is a new one on me. " Coal Garden" is not a term that is familiar to me. We have grown sweet potatoes in a jar and trained their vines around a window. We also put ink in the water and watched the veins in the leaves turn dark. Also, we would suspend an avocado seed over a jar of water and sprout the seed. Momma was always doing this.

Depends on the quality of the coal and how big the seam is, but I think you will find some clause in your house deeds concerning any minerals or ores on your land.
