What?! And spoil the romance! In my day, a suitor courted a woman for 5 years before he'd ask her out. And if she said yes, the town considered her a floozy! If you like someone, why not send them a telegram with a coupon for a free haircut? Or, spice up your romance with a friendly handshake.

There are some reaosns why one wouldn't ask someone out even if they both like each other. In my experience, a guy and I liked each other, but never asked each other out. I didn't go out with him because I was with his best friend before I liked him and thought it would be wrong. Also, even though I liked him, I knew we couldn't work out together because he's a flirt and once school started I knew he'd flirt with other girls.

I don't think my boyfriend will like that, but before I was with him I mostly prefered the flirtyness, and I didn't want to have a boyfriend.
