This age is the age of consumer-ism. If you were to distrubute all the wealth from the world and give it to every human being there would be approximately 12 million dollars for every human being on earth. I'm not sure if that the big businesses would get as much money back from places like Asia and Europe compared to North America. I could imagine that residents of North America would spend the money like it was going to rot in their pocket and the Elite will have their money back in half a generation.

The theory I've heard is 10 years. All the world's money is exactly where it would end up eventually based on culture, class, knowledge, status, experience, craftmanship, etc.... All of these factors would play a part.
My personal theory is that they would NEVER get it back! A lot of wealth thruout history was gained based on military might, plundering, conquests, etc. WIth this historical knowledge, if there ever were some economic 'miracle' like this, I think honest people would work tirelessly to make sure the previous world would never happen again!
The world would change completely and permenantly. Many people that would do a lot of good in the world would no longer lack the resources. And many people who do 'bad' things would lack having the power of resources to control the downtrodden. Food and resources = control. If there were no 'elite' hoarding vast amounts of resources, an immense new class of people would arise! Just imagine if the playing field was level; what a wonderful and wildly interesting world it would be! :-)

Maybe 10 years, if that.
Though the new wealthy bunch might not be exactly the same as the old bunch, because some of the old bunch was just brainless old money. With a tiny amount of resources, a few of the brainier, poorer folks could easily rise to the top.
Either way, I think we're destined to have a few rich, many middle class, and a few poor.

It really depends on the legal and political system. If people are free to conduct business, it would happen very quickly. Once people realized that Play Stations, NFL teams, and Hooters had disappeard, they would gladly give it all back.
However, if the country was repressive, it could take several decades of misery, starvation and deprivation. Look at the Soviet Union. Look at Cuba or North Korea.

Probably never. Why work that hard to acquire something just so it can be taken away and given to the undeserving masses? If this happened, it would only mean that we poor folks would each get to buy a cup of coffee. There would be no jobs for us; and our 401Ks would be raided.
The whole world would then be as happy, as rich, as peaceful, and as prosperous and North Korans are.

Oh it wouldnt take long in any respect. in the present day many, many people may be killed or taken benefit of and Greed might chuckle his evil chuckle. i might say in days, if it even took that long, we'd have those with wealth and capability thoroughly dominating over others.
