Ok, so you love wine, theatre, fine dining and the outdoors? Easy, checkout the theatre district downtown, see what plays are going on, and if you find one you like, then go to it. Also there are some up scale type places in that area to eat like Vivo! (which is right down the street) Ok so that takes care of 2 out of 4. As far as wine, there are numerous wine tasting places within 100 miles of C-town, you could make a day of it and a lot of them are in places that are in the country, so you could take scenic ride and look at the leaves change. I hope this helped, and you have a Happy Anniversary.

Check out a bed and breakfast in the marblehead or Port Clinton area. There are some wineries up there. Mon Ami is a great restaurant on Catawba Island. Or rent a house or cabin on Kelly's island. But it would depend on your anniversary - I wouldn't go to the lake after the end of September - too cold.
Or go to Columbus, they had lots of night life and good restaurants downtown. But stay from an Ohio State home game weekend, otherwise, the restaurants and hotels are crowded and the whole ton is overrun with Buckeye fans.

There's a nice, little bed and breakfast in Avon Lake right on Lake Erie. Their website is http://www.sunsetshoresbb.com/ .
You might also want to check out The White Oaks Restaurant in Westlake for a cozy and romantic dinner.
And then there are always honeymoon suites available at downtown Cleveland hotels like the Marriott or Hyatt. You can do a lot of other fun and romantic stuff downtown too. If I'm not mistaken, you can do carriage rides downtown too. For more ideas, check out http://www.travelcleveland.com.

Try a State Park. Some nice lodges around Maumee and Punderson. Can be very romantic. Close to Ohio wine country. Lots of hiking at the state parks as way. Ferrante out east and Catawba area around Maumee. Check out the ohio wineries below.
As far as theatre, I think you're own your own. Bring some costumes to the hotel and put on some fun anniversary related "plays." :-)

Some of the state parks have nice hotels that arent that expensive. Or how about a bed and breakfast in Amish country? Or a bed and breakfast out on the islands now that all the summer crowds are pretty much over?

Check out the Geneva-On-The-Lake Lodge. It's a newer place to stay on Lake Erie close to home.
