Yes, and one of the reasons is that they didnt show the typical cliche of the president and the government thinking what to do and so on. This is about what would a regular person do in this situation to save him self and does he love.

Not as good or interesting as the original.
It had some really good scenes, but they were few and far between. And there was really one or two really bad scenes that made the audience groan and shake their heads.
The original War of the Worlds with Gene Barry is still the classic.

Yes it was quite good despite Tom Cuise, the film is more about the breakdown of society and the importance of family bonds than actual aliens, but the effects were very convincing

It's good a speilberg good!
Cruise isn't bad the end is good! has the original cast in it
including Gene barry from the first one 1960's one!
liked the crafts of aliens! i liked the electical problems they cause like atom (Bomb) going off... cast was good except the girl(can't remember name)
Battle scenes were good !!!

I loved it, the special effects were amazing and it really sucked you in.

yeah it was awesome....Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning played there parts well.
