I know no language is really easy but I need 2 years of a foreign language to graduate from my school and I can only choose from 2 Spanish and French. But they might let me take mt language class at the college here. It's German though!

So out of
Spanish
French
German

what would be the easiest to learn??

Yeah well I'm taking Spanish right now....I just hate it, and I understand like 10 words! And those are the words that I knew before I started the class

For most Americans, Spanish would probably be the easiest because they get a lot of exposure to Spanish through everyday life. But the other two wouldn't be that bad either--both German and French are relatively close to English as far as foreign languages go.

The only thing that could make a huge difference is motivation. If you really enjoy watching French movies, for instance, you'd probably have a much easier time learning French because you could relate it to something you're interested in.

German is a b***h of a language. There are half a dozen ways of saying "the" and an equal number of ways of making a plural! I speak German and French and not Spanish, but I've heard that Spanish is the easiest. German is definitely the hardest.

You don't even need much German if you plan to travel in Germany, Austria or Switzerland because hotel and restaurant people almost always have a basic grasp of English, as do most educated younger people.

However German is useful as a lingua franca (common language) in eastern Europe. Also, if you know German it's relatively easy to make out the gist of the other Germanic languages, i.e. the Scandinavian languages and Dutch.

French will give you access to a richer and more interesting literature than Spanish will. It will also be more useful if you go to Africa, because many of the countries are former French colonies where the people speak French. On the other hand, Spanish will be way more useful in Latin America and even parts of the US. It depends on what you want.

Spanish is the easiest.
I actually know a bit of French and Spanish, and Spanish is way more easy to learn ( i stopped doing both, because... well i don't like em). Mostly the difference between what you write and what you pronounce is what makes French a bit harder then Spanish.
German is the hardest of those three, i know that even as a German guy...

Spanish is the easiest, and probably the most useful in the United States.

If you plan on being in Europe, then German would be more widely used I believe since Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Parts of half a dozen other countries understand it as well. German is not easy as other people have said, but I believe in any language you want to study, the feminine and masculine forms of words will always be a B**ch.

Thank God for English. ;-)

I would say Spanish because it is most used in the United States out of all off the choices. If you chose this you will most likely hear familiar words and phrases you have heard from before studying the langauge. Spanish and French also derive from Latin, which we get many English words from also, making them more familiar then German. French might be familiar, just not as much as Spanish.

That is just easiest. Don't be afraid to challenge yourself if there is one you like better.

It depends if you actually enjoy a language or not; technically, French is the easiest because the English language is 60% French already (just with different spellings and pronunciations) but I've found learning Japanese to be much easier because I watch anime (Japanese cartoons) so the language is a lot more fun for me. I'm only a beginner, but I've found it much easier going than French.

French is easiest of these 3, and is the Romance language which has more common roots with all the other Romance languages. Therefore, when you have learned French, it is much easier to learn Spanish, Latin, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian.

I take both spanish and french, but I find that spanish is easier to pick up than french. German would be the hardest for you to learn.

I've taken spanish and latin and I will tell you that latin is a lot easier and much more fun. With spanish, you have to speak it, however, because latin is a dead language, you only have to read it. Now, you're probably asking yourself... how would latin come in handy? Latin is the root of all languages, thus it would help you understand big words in english. Trust me, they really help in high school when you take tests such as the PSAT, ACT, SAT, and PACT.
