I've given up the fight but not the war.
It isn't a choice, and I can't force them to accept it since some people's believes are shoved and pushed on them by their parents so much that it's difficult to change them. I don't think the Bible if a reason to justify hating homosexuals, I don't think the bible can justify anything. I know what is right, and they refuse to believe it, so be it.

You've got this all wrong. Many straight people don't understand homosexuality and assume that a gay person chooses to be that way rather than is born that way. Sometimes that can be the case , but if sexuality was a choice then that would not make people bisexual - having a choice and making a choice are two totally different things. All human beings have choices: ie as to whether to earn a living and make or own way in life or become a burglar and steal everything we want. Most of us chose the honest option. Having the choice does not make us a potential thief. What some people are saying is that gay people are gay because they prefer to be. I don't believe that, but having a preference would not mean that you are bi-sexual.

We are NOT an evolutionary dead-end. It's more likely that stone-age societies who had openly gay members were more healthy, since people with kids (trust me on this) don't have as much time to devote to scientific discovery, art and spirituality. Gay people probably helped civilization move forward in more ways than we'll ever know. Our brothers and sisters and their children had a better chance of survival because of us, and to this day they pass on many of the same genes that we carry.
As for it being a "choice," it's only the people who have an agenda--usually religious--who say that. Gay people almost never say it was a choice. Ah, who to believe?

Wow, good point. I never thought of it in those terms. I really really hate when I hear people call it a lifestyle. That's like saying to someone in a wheelchair, "Well, I don't envy you, however, that's the lifestyle choice you made, and you can change any day you want".

My mother is straight and she can't imagine what I see in homosexuality. As if it were a choice. Honestly, I don't know what breeders see in heterosexuality, but that's a choice they had to make...

I'm straight, but I believe you are born the way you are. I have too many gay friends who can only dwell on the hardships they have with their families and friends, to think they are are choosing this lifestyle. If gay marriage was allowed, many would settle down and be monogamous.

I think its a genetic variant like hand dominance, it can be overcome with practice, but many lefties who learn to use their right hand, they in turn become ambidextrous, rather than full righties...
I also think its simply an evolutionary line ender, because w/o modern science or straying from their gender they ain't reproducing any time soon, so its simply a 'program glitch' that would end an otherwise probably viable bloodline

i've asked this question and used this argument countless times... it defies all laws of logic that they completely "miss" this point.. and/or obvious flaw in their argument... the conservative right see it more as a "behavior" ... like some people who smoke... or have O.C.D or join a book club... they believe that you can just stop the behavior and begin to do what's "natural"...( for them ) and alll of a sudden "JEEZUZ" will come into your life and you'll be straight...
F**Kn crock ...idiots... they'll die off and we'll move on... thank god... "burn any witches today?"...DAMN...!!
