I am trying to find out where the hepa filter is to check and/or change it if necessary on a 2003 chevy impala.

if you have one it s on the passenger side of the cowl. Best thing is to turn wipers on and when they are in the middle of the window turn the key off so they stop . Then you need to pull back the rubber trim on the edge and then move the plastic linesfor the washer fluid. Then you have 3 clips to move. 2 of them are push pins a flathead will get them out the other is a flat head screw. Take all those out and then lift up the plastic cowl and the filter will be right there. If you have the 3100 engine than you might not have on there. From what i have seen the 3400 and 3800 engines have them but most but not all 3100 engines dont have them.

The cabin air filter is usually located behind the glove box. there should be a removable panel at the back of the box.
